A high correlation was found between top/root ratio and thiocyanate content in marketable roots of 12 cultivars of radish ( Raphanus sativus L.) and 4 cultivars of turnip ( Brassica rapa L.). This relationship offers a simple and rapidly determined index of relative toxicity of these species.
