The use of anatomic transparencies in the teaching of the anatomic relations between the structures has now been well established. The book on the human ear is an elaborate production requiring several years for its accomplishment. Specimens were expertly dissected as a basis for the colored paintings by Miss Gladys McHugh. Many of the faculty of the University of Chicago School of Medicine cooperated in the preparation of the manuscript. The section on the evolution of the ear and hearing is a fascinating addition to the strictly anatomic text. No better guide to the structure of all the organs involved in hearing is thus far available. An extensive bibliography completes the work.
