The equilibrium line between ice I and III has been reinvestigated in an attempt to verify an order-disorder transformation in ice III that has been inferred from the reported curvature of the I-III line. The line is in fact nearly straight, and previous measurements indicating that it is curved are wrong. There is therefore no order-disorder transformation in ice III above − 61.9°C.
