This paper presents a scheme for sensorless control of switched reluctance motors (SRMs) over the full speed range. The sensorless control of SRMs is divided into low-speed range and medium-high speed range, and two sensorless control schemes are used respectively. The inductance inflection point method is used in the low-speed range. This method is simple to calculate and has high position estimation accuracy in the low-speed range. The inductive decoupling method is used in the medium and high-speed range. This method can realize the accurate estimation of the rotor position in the full speed range of the rotor in the medium and high-speed range, but the calculation amount is huge. The hybrid control strategy is used to combine the two methods and take their advantages, and can realize smooth switching from low speed to high speed. The performance of the method has been verified experimentally.
