Fossil amphibians recovered from the Pleistocene (Illinoian or Kansan) deposit of Pit II, Arredondo, Florida (5 caudates and 10 anurans) represent at least 2 extinct and 13 living species. The habitat that would support these was a freshwater marsh with a nearby wet meadow. The presence of some species with northern affinities indicates that the climate was probably cooler during the Illinoian (or Kansan) glacial stage.
