An all-fibre hydrogen Raman-laser cavity using fibre Bragg gratings and an H2-filled HCPCF-based gas cell is reported for the first time to our knowledge. An enhancement of stimulated Raman scattering is observed when the cavity is introduced. This includes a reduction of the threshold on all generated Raman lines and an enhancement of power conversion to the second Stokes of ortho-H2 by more than 30 dB. These results confirm the feasibility of an all-fibre CW Raman gas laser.
