One has only to note the frequent appearance of the statement, "A spleen was felt by one examiner," in medical case reports in order to confirm this fact. It is reassuring to learn that no examiner felt the spleen or that all examiners located a definite spleen tip a given number of centimeters below the costal margin. When everyone agrees that the spleen is palpable, this finding is usually interpreted as definite evidence of some pathologic process. For this reason, when...References1.
