The double hypernucleus Lambda Lambda 6 He has been analysed using Faddeev's method and two-body local potentials. This double hypernucleus has been considered as a three-body Lambda Lambda alpha system. For Lambda Lambda and alpha Lambda interactions, realistic potentials of exponential form have been used. A hard core has been retained in the Lambda Lambda interaction. The binding energy B Lambda Lambda for Lambda Lambda 6 He has been calculated for different values of the Lambda Lambda potential strength parameter, V 0 . With V 0 =4.7656 fm -1 the theoretical prediction is in very good agreement with the experimental binding energy found by Prowse (1966). The results for B Lambda Lambda have been compared with those obtained by Tang and Herndon (1966) using the variational method.
