Key result
Psychological assistance using suggestive therapy and educational programs significantly reduced anxiety scores compared to traditional rehabilitation at 6 months in patients after coronary artery bypass surgery.
Why the study?
Does psychological assistance (suggestive therapy or educational programs) improve the psycho-emotional state in patients with coronary heart disease undergoing coronary artery bypass surgery?
Does psychological assistance (suggestive therapy or educational programs) improve the psycho-emotional state in patients with coronary heart disease undergoing coronary artery bypass surgery?
Psychological interventions, including suggestive therapy and educational programs, significantly reduce anxiety and depression in patients undergoing coronary artery bypass surgery.
May support psychological interventions post-CABS; leaves open need for randomized trials before practice change.
Objective: to evaluate the correcting influence of suggestive methods and instructional-correcting programmes on psycho-emotional state of the patients with coronary heart disease (CHD), whom the coronary artery bypass surgery (CABS) was conducted, and to define the interrelation of the emotional state and physical evidence.Material and methods. The object was 60 patients whom the CABS was carried out. For the evaluation of psycho-emotional state, the psychometrical methods HADS were applied. Out of correcting measures, the suggestive therapy and correcting education were used.Results. On the basis of learning the psycho-emotional state of the patients whom CABS was conducted the evidence of anxiety and depression was defined. According to the results of the scale, the subclinical and clinical anxiety and depressions to the surgical interference were observed. In the process of psychological assistance with the use of correcting methods, the reduction of these displays was marked. The importance of using suggestive methods and the patients' education, whom the CABS was conducted, has been established.Conclusions. For the purpose of psycho prevention on all stages of patients’ rehabilitation with CHD, whom CABS was conducted, it is reasonable, on the basis of the evaluation of psychological status, to conduct the correcting measures before surgical interference, during postsurgical period as well as during 6 months after the interference. In the correction of the psycho-emotional condition, there must be a multidiscipline and complex approach using the psychological methods of suggestive therapy and the patients' education.

Roksolana Nestеrak (2018) studied Coronary heart disease (n=60). Suggestive therapy and educational programs vs. Traditional rehabilitation measures was evaluated on Anxiety score on the HADS scale at 6 months (p=<0.01).
