Special addition: The addition of aromatic CH bonds to vinylsilanes proceeds smoothly in the presence of Ru/CeO2. The choice of appropriate additive realizes catalysis on the solid surface. This catalytic reaction can be carried out without solvent on a large scale to achieve a high turnover number. Modification of Ru/CeO2 with PPh3 under a H2 atmosphere markedly increases the catalytic activity.
