Self-determination Re-examined COLIN WHITTINGTON COLIN WHITTINGTON Colin Whittington entered social work as a Trainee with the Kent County Council Health and Welfare Department in 1966 and took the C.S.W. Course at the North Western Polytechnic 1967–69. After training he returned to the Medway Towns in Kent and, since September 1970, has been a Senior Social Worker in what is now the Social Services Department.
