Click here for SUMOylation: Post-translational modifications with ubiquitin and ubiquitin-like proteins as SUMO are implicated in many biological processes. However, the preparation of defined conjugates by enzymatic means is often impossible. We report a new chemical-conjugation approach to specifically and stably link these post-translational modifiers to recombinant substrate proteins.
