Two new 1-D compounds of Rh2(O2CCF3)4 bridged by dicyano linkers were synthesized and structurally characterized. [Rh2(O2CCF3)4(DM-DCNQI)]∞·(C6H6) (1) and [Rh2(O2CCF3)4(DCNNQI)]∞·(C7H8) (2) (DM-DCNQI = 2,5-dimethyl-N,N‘-dicyanoquinone diimine, DCNNQI = N,N‘-dicyanonaphthaquinone diimine) exhibit different chain motifs because of anti versus syn N−C⋮N linkages.
