Differential measurements are reported on elastic charge exchange and direct excitations for H + on H between 250 eV and 2000 eV, using the energy loss method. Evidence is found for the exclusive excitation of n=2 levels. Charge exchange probabilities are in good agreement with the previous data of Everhart (1965) and improve them at low energies and angles. Experimental cross sections for all process are compared with the available theoretical data in the molecular expansion revealing the effect of 'trajectory' calculations for large angles.
