Key result
HRV shows no significant correlation with fatigue or kinesiophobia in MS patients.
Why the study?
Autonomic nervous system involvement is implicated in multiple sclerosis and may relate to fatigue and kinesiophobia, prompting investigation into their relationship with heart rate variability.
Does heart rate variability correlate with fatigue and kinesiophobia in patients with multiple sclerosis?
Cross-Sectional (n=50)
No
Does heart rate variability correlate with fatigue and kinesiophobia in patients with multiple sclerosis?
In patients with multiple sclerosis, heart rate variability parameters do not significantly correlate with fatigue or kinesiophobia, though mean heart rate correlates with disease duration and disability status.
Answers are grounded in this paper and cite their sources.
HRV unrelated to fatigue or kinesiophobia in MS; leaves open autonomic-symptom links and warrants larger prospective studies.

Tekin et al. (2025) conducted a cross-sectional in Multiple Sclerosis (n=50). Heart rate variability (HRV) was evaluated on Correlation between HRV parameters and kinesiophobia and fatigue (p=>0.05). Heart rate variability parameters showed no statistically significant correlation with kinesiophobia or fatigue levels in patients with Multiple Sclerosis (p>0.05).
