The wet ashing of organic matter for Sb determination was Investigated by using a radioactive tracer technique. Wet ashing with HNO3 + HClO4 mixtures leads to the formation of Insoluble Sb compounds. All the Sb remains In solution when a HNO3 + HClO4 + Hi:SO4 mixture Is used. The Influence of the ashing vessel (glass and Teflon) and the oxidation state of Sb were also studied.
