We describe an electron spin resonance spectrometer operating in the full 1–2 GHz octave band which by the use of a new resonator with a filling factor ca. 1 reaches a very high measured sensitivity also at low power levels (1.3×1013 spins/cm3 G at 0.6 mW). A thorough discussion of the specific advantages of this spectrometer is given.
