Using a method, which is based on the equivalence of energy loss and Joule heat, the dynamical conductivity of semiconductors is calculated. Scattering by dislocations is assumed, which are described by a simple monopole and dipole line model. The theory is applied to Te for frequencies 107 to 1014 Hz (10−7 to 1 eV) and for temperatures T = 10, 20, and 30 K.
