An analysis was carried out of the possibilities provided by the Yamakawa‐Fujii theory of the hydrodynamic properties of polymer solutions for the determination of the structure parameters (especially of unperturbed dimensions) of polymers with stiff chains. Conditions for using the plots M/[η] vs. M1/2 and M/[f] vs. M1/2 for the given purpose were defined. The occurrence of a minimum in the former plot observed for ladder polymers was explained. The confrontation of the results of the analysis with hydrodynamic data for polychlorophenylsilasesquioxane and polyphenylsilasesquioxane indicate a branched structure of these ladder polymers.
