A simple viscoelastometer is described which can measure dynamic moduli in shear of less than 0.01 dynes/cm2 and requires a sample volume of less than 0.5 ml. The principle of operation is to follow the motion of a probe, generated by the tilting of the table on which it is mounted. The probe is suspended from a knife edge and generates a shear stress in the material. Calibration data using 100% glycerol is presented.
