We have measured the velocity and attenuation of sound in a pack of water saturated glass spheres. The frequency range spreads from 200 kHz to 10 MHz and the diameter of the spheres is varied from 50 μm to 500 μm. Our experimental data clearly confirm the validity of Biot's theory of the propagation of sound in porous medium.
