The relationship between the electronic structure of small metallic (Pt, Ir, Rh) and alloyed (Pt‐Cr, Pt‐Cu) particles and their chemical reactivity has been established using zeolite matrix and a set of physical techniques, such as XPS, XAES, HRTEM, electron microdiffraction, FTIR of CO and catalytic model reactions.
