In the current assay, we applied green chemistry to synthesize silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) and incorporated the curcumin-mediated AgNPs into polycaprolactone (PCL) nanofibers. The results showed that AgNPs have a spherical morphology and uniform shape with a hydrodynamic diameter of around 112.9 nm and a polydispersity index of 0.2. Moreover, the curcumin-mediated AgNPs have a zeta potential of around −3.7 mV. The results showed that the pristine PCL nanofibers have a diameter of 177 ± 37 nm and the PCL/AgNPs have a diameter of 163 ± 34 nm. The biological assessments (MTT and Live/Dead assays) showed that the PCL/AgNPs did not induce significant cell toxicity. The disk diffusion assay revealed the PCL/AgNPs inhibited the growth of S. aureus. Our findings showed that the fabricated PCL/AgNPs have beneficial physicochemical and biological properties and can be used in various biomedical fields.
