It is shown that the exponential depth profiles observed in some cases in the diffusion of hydrogen into semiconductors, e.g., silicon and gallium arsenide, may be explained by including a term in the diffusion equation that describes the multiple trapping of hydrogen at an impurity. It is shown that the effective dimensionality of the random walk in the present case is infinite.
