In spite of this, there has been no clinical or direct experimental evidence relating any of the antinuclear antibodies to specific disease manifestations.It has been our contention that the significance of antinuclear antibodies can only be properly elucidated by studies which distinguish between individual factors. To facilitate distinction of antibodies with different specificities we have previously described a spot test for detection of antibody to nucleoprotein, and a characteristic nuclear reaction pattern...
