The new vanadium(IV) phosphate NH4VOPO4·H2O has strong one-dimensional character and consists of double chains of VO5 square pyramids and PO4 tetrahedra, sharing vertexes. A V−OH2 grouping is present, and hydrogen bonds involving the H2O and NH4+ moieties are important in stabilizing the overall crystal structure.
