A short survey is given of the epidemological data on endemic typhus in Palestine as far as they are known at present. The conclusion is drawn, that the endemic typhus is mainly a disease of the non-immunized immigrants, while the indigenous population is assumed to be more or less “silently immunized” in childhood. The clinical picture of endemic typhus in Palestine is fully described and two types of the disease are distinguished. Their characteristic differences may be summarized as follows
