Liothrips Uzel was redefined by Ananthakrishnan and Jagadish*, and distinguished from Gynaikothrips Zimmerman. The following species, six of which are new, are described here: L. ater, sp. nov., L. bosei Moulton. L. cecidii, sp. nov., L. (Phaenothrips) eugeniae Priesner, L. flavescens, sp. nov., L.furvus, sp. nov., L. nubilis, sp. nov. and L. strigosus, sp. nov.
