Solvent-induced switchable photocurrents have been obtained in composites of CdS nanoparticles with polymer hydrogels. The preparation of the CdS nanoparticle/polyacrylamide hybrid material (see Figure) on Au electrodes is thoroughly described and the effect of loading of the semiconductor particles into the polymer on the properties of the composite is discussed.
