Preliminary results on an attempt to derive a new simple fluid reference for molecular fluids are reported. All calculations are performed for a simple pseudo-molecular fluid model for which all necessary input information is readily available. It is shown that the new reference fluid provides in all cases an improvement over the RAM theory.
