The results of a study of thiabendazole, for the treatment of 37 patients with chronic strongyloidiasis are reported and discussed. A favourable response occurred in 81·5% of 27 patients treated and followed up from one month to one year, a figure which compares well with experience of other drugs for the same condition. Thiabendazole moreover offers the advantage of a short course of treatment and its side effects, though common, are generally tolerated. So far, it has proved to be the most effective remedy available for this disease.
