Rotational diffusion coefficients of perylene in solution were determined by a fluorescence depolarization technique. An asymmetric rotor approximation is more appropriate than an oblate approximation for perylene. The ratio of the diffusion coefficients suggests that a partially slipping boundary condition should be taken into account for this system.
