Gigantic magnetofield splitting of the 1s exciton reflection spectrum is observed in ZnSe:Mn and ZnSe: Fe crystals. The effects are attributed to the exchange interaction between the carriers which enter in the free exciton and the magnetic impurity ions. The effects are qualitatively and quantitatively similar to the earlier one reported for ZnTe:Mn and CdTe:Mn. The exchange interaction of the c‐band electron with impurity 3d ions is ferromagnetic while for the v‐band electron it is antiferromagnetic. The values of intraexciton electron‐hole exchange interaction in magnetodoped crystals under investigation are found to be different from the reported'ones in nondopedc ZnSe crystals. The peculiarities of the effects in ZnSe:Mn and ZnSe:Fe are discussed.
