Oesophageal injury from therapeutic agents has been reported with increasing frequency and with an increasingly wide range of drugs since 1970. We report a recent case of oesophagitis due to emepronium bromide (Cetiprin) at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham, and review all the reported instances of oesophageal damage caused by this and other drugs.
