This paper explored the relationship between deviant leisure and serial murder. The authors examined acts of deviant leisure and serial murderers for 14 teams of male and female serial killers (n = 28) between 1947 and 1992. We found that male and female team serial killers spent an inordinate amount of time preparing, committing (trolling, kidnap, rape, and torture) and reliving (photographs, videotape, audiotape, trophies, and souvenirs) the events during their free time. As a result, we concluded that the perpetrators utilized serial murder as a leisure activity, albeit a deviant (non‐traditional) one.
