The preparation of ferrocene-containing polypyrrole layers on platinum electrodes has been achieved by anodic copolymerization of pyrrole with N-(2-ferrocenylethyl)pyrrole. The novel, chargeable redox polymer 1, RH and (CH2)2Fc, might be used, for example, for reference microelectrodes.
