The tendency of CoII‐chelates to form binuclear μ‐peroxo‐bridged complexes with O2 has been investigated. The nature of the ligand strongly influences the stability of such complexes. Polyamin chelates obviously fovour the bonding to O2 whereas chelates with aminopolycarboxylic acids do not show any measurable affinity for O2. The solution stability of (Dien)CoO2Co(Dien)4+ has been determined by spectrophotometric methods.
