We replicated some of the data obtained in controlled clinical trials.This fact further confirms that non selected AD patients with a mild to moderate cognitive decline may benefit of AchE-I treatment.A proportion of these patients is actually under observation in a three year longitudinal study to answer other important questions such as the impact of AchE-I treatment on caregiver burden and costs, the pattern of services utilization (i.e. home care, nursing homes), on behavioural symptoms and natural history of the disease.
