This study was designed to understand the role of ozone for the treatment of wastewater due to its exceptional oxidizing potential over the other oxidants. De-colorization of C.B-10X Blue and C.B.M-10X Blue dyes present in textile wastewater was investigated and various parameters include the rate of ozone generation; pH, airflow rate of ozone and the initial concentration of the dyes was studied for process optimization. Ozonation carried out with the aid of an ozone generator. Ozone treatment showed a decrease in color at low dye concentration (100ppm) at acidic pH. The decolorizing values of C.B-10X Blue and C.B.M-10X Blue were up to 75 and 72% respectively. The decrease in color intensity was also observed at different intervals of Ozonation that revealed less and abnormal color decrease at higher concentrations (300 ppm & 500 ppm).
