Synthesis of Σ-Bonded [60]Fullerene Metallacycle Compound η 2 -Σ-C 60 [Moη 5 -Eto 2 Cc 5 H 4 )(Co) 2 ] 2 (Dppe) Via Reaction of K 2 C 60 and [η 5-Eto 2 Cc 5 H 4 (Co) 2 Moi] 2 (Dppe)

The first σ-bonded [60]fullerene organometallic complex metallacycle η 2 -σ-C 60 [Mo(η 5 -EtO 2 CC 5 H 4 ) (CO) 2 ] 2 (dppe) (dppe=Ph 2 PCH 2 CH 2 PPh 2 ) is synthesized by reaction of K 2 C 60 with a new electrophile η 5 -EtO 2 CC 5 H 4 (CO) 2 MoI 2 (dppe), both of which have been characterized by elemental analysis and spectroscopy.
