The reaction of MoO with H2S has been studied photometrically. It has been found by the existence of isobestic points during the formation of dithioanions that the first reaction products are MoO3S2− and WO3S2−, respectively. The proof for the existence of these ions is not easy because thier bands coincide with those of MO2S ions.
