Green and blue–green phycotype pairs formed by the lichens Nephroma arcticum (L.) Torss., Peltigera aphthosa (L.) Willd., P. britannica (Gyelnik) Holt.–Hartw. & Tønsb. comb. nov. and Lobaria amplissima (Scop.) Forss. are reported, and their possible occurrence in Peltigera venosa (L.) Baumg. is considered. A blue–green phycotype of Nephroma arcticum is reported for the first time. The taxonomy, chemistry and distribution of the Peltigera aphthosa group in Norway are discussed.
