A high-pressure liquid chromatographic method for analysis of some structurally related sedatives and anticonvulsants has been developed. The method uses a single step extraction of the sample with dichloromethane. Quantitation involves the use of an internal standard. Qualitation is based not only on relative retention time but also relative peak area ratioing at two or more wavelengths. Changes in relative retention times with changes in eluting solvent composition are also discussed.
