Reaction rate constants are determined for the piperidino‐debromination of a number of derivatives ofortho‐ andpara‐nitro‐bromobenzene with one or two methyl groups as substituents. The results are discussed and compared with those obtained in the catalytic deacetylation of the corresponding nitroacetylamino compounds in an alkaline medium.
