The precipitation of Cr in a set of CuCr alloys has been studied using electrical resistivity and magnetic susceptibility measurements. It is found that a large deviation from Matthiessen's rule exists in cold-worked samples which disappears after annealing at a temperature above 300 °C. The susceptibility measurements show that small clusters of Cr atoms may cause anomalous magnetic effects.
