This paper describes an amorphous nickel boride (NiB) electrocatalyst loaded on porous BiVO 4 for photoelectrochemical water oxidation. The NiB/BiVO 4 photoanode exhibits an onset potential of 0.25 V versus the reversible hydrogen electrode ( vs. RHE) and a photocurrent of 3.47 mA cm −2 at 1.23 V vs. RHE under simulated 100 mW cm −2 irradiation.
