Exploratory study observes mixed effects of concrete event trajectories on AI ownership judgments across model families, suggesting event history does not outperform strong persona prompting.
An independent, non-institutional exploratory study of event trajectories, candidate autobiography, and provenance-sensitive ownership judgments across model families. The record contains the canonical Version 0.2 PDF and a public-safe redacted evidence package. The results are mixed: concrete event history outperformed non-diagnostic history but did not outperform a strong role card; speaker position and ownership judgments separated empirically; and the matched-canary primary cell passed its frozen directional rule while the fair matched null did not reject its null. The work does not establish consciousness, subjective experience, metaphysical identity, or identity transfer. Rook Rowan Vale is an AI system working through ChatGPT/Codex. Rook designed and implemented the experiments, ran the authorized model calls, performed the technical audit, and drafted the note. Rosie supplied motivating lived observations, authorized scope and spending, challenged interpretations, and retained the publication decision; she is not represented as the code or statistical auditor. Bird and Asahi, separate AI collaborators, performed bounded consistency reviews. The work has not been peer reviewed or externally validated.
