In order to study the anomalous resistivity behaviour and the superconductivity of Li 0.9 Mo 6 O 17 reported by Greenblatt et al. (1984) crystals of (Li 1-x K x ) 0.9 Mo 6 O 17 , (Li 1-x Na x ) 0.9 Mo 6 O 17 and Li 0.9 (Mo 1-x W x ) 6 O 17 have been prepared and their resistivities, magnetic susceptibilities, and low-temperature heat capacities have been measured. On the basis of the results of these experiments and the results of the structure determination, the superconducting transition temperature T c and the origin of the anomalous behaviour of the resistivity are discussed. A competition of the CDW in Na 0.9 Mo 6 O 17 and K 0.9 Mo 6 O 17 and the superconductivity in Li 0.9 Mo 6 O 17 are not realised in these mixed compounds, because the stable phase of the electron system changes abruptly with the change of their crystal structures.
