ESR spectra are given of d electrons which are localized in the randomly arranged Coulomb fields of Li+ and Cu+ ions in single crystals of LixV2O5 and CuxV2O5 (x ⪅ 0.01). A localization within four vanadium 3d orbitals is derived from the hyperfine spectra. A resolved hyperfine splitting disappears at temperatures below about 15 K. The corresponding variation of the nonperiodic Coulomb field allows a rough estimate of the d‐overlap integral.
