The ESR spectrum of Cr3 + ions, substituting V5 + ions in V2O5 single crystals, can be described by the conventional spin Hamiltonian with (at room temperature) gx = gy = 1.959; gz = 1.972; D = + 21.077 GHz; E= 0.47 GHz. The unusually strong temperature dependence of the parameter D is compared with that of SnO2 :Cr3 +.
